Renewable energy

CAPSIM assists clients developing projects for connecting their energy production installations to the electricity transmission and distribution grid.

Whether they be wind farms, solar installations or biomass plants, the technical studies produced by CAPSIM guarantee both compliance with the texts in force (regulatory texts, laws, grid codes, etc.) and the sizing of the electricity grids within the facilities.

With its calculation tools, CAPSIM models the facility and produces all the justifying simulations and calculations: short-circuit current, voltage plan and reactive compensation, harmonics, verification of the grid stability, FRT study (Fault Ride Through), etc.

CAPSIM has also treated the case of the generator connections within industrial facilities, such as biomass power plants at paper mills, for example. In this case, the analysis has a bearing not only on the interaction with the RPT (public electricity transmission grid) but also covers the impact on the existing grid: replacement of equipment, review of protection plans, modification of systems (filtering, reactive compensation).

CAPSIM also assists its customers in the design of innovative generators such as, for example, marine current underwater turbine generators and in providing advance verification of compliance with regulatory requirements through a modelling and simulation approach.
